how to make a snazzy snazzy instagram story

Over the last few years massive social media sites like Instagram and Facebook have started rolling out features like "Stories" to allow people to share images and text in a lovely, vertical, phone shaped format.

It's here to stay, whether we want it to or not.

However, keeping your instagram story at the same aesthetic level as your amazingly co-ordinated Insta grid seems a little difficult. The stickers and filters available aren't the best, and people have been editing their insta posts out-of-app for ages. So why should your stories be any different??

A quick search on the App Store/ play store will bring plenty of dodgy apps to create vertical content with, but today I'm going to show you how I make mine.

Over time, I've used a few different apps to create story magic, and I'll be extolling the virtues of my favourites whilst giving you some handy dandy tips and tricks here today.

Unfold

Available on: iOS & Android.

Firstly, I use the app 'Unfold', which I downloaded after watching Peter Mckinnons video with his friend Alen Palander (Which you can watch here: https://youtu.be/Rq7KtM9vhHg)

With the aid of this app, I quickly upped my Instagram story to a level far above the rest of my social media content.

This app gives you a few free templates, and has example uses of each one available, for all the templates you already have, and for any you're thinking of buying. The extra templates cater to a bunch of different aesthetics, and are decently priced for the brilliant quality you're getting.

HOWEVER, if you don't fancy spending any money, nor being tempted to, you might find this next app more up your street.

Adobe Spark Post

Available on: iOS, OSX, Windows & Android.

This app is available on your phone or through your laptop. You'll need an adobe account, but that's all. Once again, there are some features unavailable unless you have a premium account, however, if you have a subscription to any other adobe software, you get the premium account thrown in for free!! I started using this with the free access, and recently started using the premium features once I splashed out on Lightroom too.
